How to Measure Your Body
To find your best size, measure yourself with a soft tape measure.
Keep the tape flat and close to the body, but not tight.
• Bust — Measure around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape straight across your back.
• Waist — Measure around the narrowest part of your waist.
(Usually just above the belly button.)
• Hips — Measure around the fullest part of your hips and sit.
• Garment Bust — This refers to the actual measurement of the garment laid flat. From under arm to under arm.
This number is larger than your body measurement to allow ease and movement.

How to Measure Your Garment (KimC Studio Guide)
To help you find your perfect size, we recommend measuring a garment you already own and love and comparing it with the KimC Studio measurement table. Lay your garment flat on a table and follow these steps:
Before You Start- Fit Note from KimC Studio
KimC Studio garments are designed with a relaxed fit and many styles are subtly oversized.
This means:
- The garments naturally have more room through the bust, waist, and hip.
- You may find both your usual size and one size down can fit, depending on your preferred look.
1. Bust (Garment Bust)
- Lay your top or dress flat.
- Measure straight across from armpit to armpit.
- Double this measurement to get the full circumference.
- Compare it to the Garment Bust (cm) column in the table.
2. Hip (Garment Hip)
- At the widest part of the garment (usually 18–22 cm below the waist seam), measure straight across.
- Double that number for the full hip measurement.
- Compare to the Garment Hip (cm) column.
3. Garment Length:
- Dress Length
Measure from the highest shoulder point (top of the shoulder seam) straight down to the hem.
- Top Length
Measure from the highest shoulder point to the bottom hem.
- Coat Length
Measure from the shoulder seam down to the longest point of the coat hem.
- Pants Length
Measure from the top of waistband down to the pants hem.
Match this to the appropriate Garment Length (cm) column.
4. Waist (for fitted styles only)
- Measure across the narrowest part of the garment.
- KimC studio measurement is full waist circumference.
- Compare to the Body Waist (cm) or the garment’s waist measurement if applicable.
5. Understanding Body vs Garment Measurements
- Body measurements show which size your actual body fits into.
- Garment measurements show how the clothing will fit on the body, including room for movement and the natural relaxed fit.
Example: If your body bust = 88 cm → look for a garment bust around 92–96 cm for a comfortable regular fit.

- All measurements are in centimetres (cm).

- Lay your top or dress flat.
- Measure straight across from armpit to armpit.
- Double this measurement to get the full circumference.
- Compare it to the Garment Bust (cm) column in the table.
2. Hip (Garment Hip)
- At the widest part of the garment (usually 18–22 cm below the waist seam), measure straight across.
- Double that number for the full hip measurement.
- Compare to the Garment Hip (cm) column.
3. Garment Length:
- Dress Length
Measure from the highest shoulder point (top of the shoulder seam) straight down to the hem.
- Top Length
Measure from the highest shoulder point to the bottom hem.
- Coat Length
Measure from the shoulder seam down to the longest point of the coat hem.
- Pants Length
Measure from the top of waistband down to the pants hem.
Match this to the appropriate Garment Length (cm) column.
4. Waist (for fitted styles only)
- Measure across the narrowest part of the garment.
- KimC studio measurement is full waist circumference.
- Compare to the Body Waist (cm) or the garment’s waist measurement if applicable.
5. Understanding Body vs Garment Measurements
- Body measurements show which size your actual body fits into.
- Garment measurements show how the clothing will fit on the body, including room for movement and the natural relaxed fit.
Example: If your body bust = 88 cm → look for a garment bust around 92–96 cm for a comfortable regular fit.

- Natural fabrics like silk, linen, and cotton may soften and ease with wear.
- If you prefer a closer fit: consider sizing down.
- If you prefer an airy, oversized look: choose your normal size or size up.
